Finally got around to printing my stone for the Dive posters. Ended up doing a smaller edition but experimented with a blend roll this time around and really enjoy how it turned out. Next up screen print and letter press.
I’ve got a new project I’m working on and a continuation of an old one. I am making promotional poters for the zine I do http://www.facebook.com/divezine. Here I’ve got a litho stone where I’m making the background and then I’m going to use a mixture of silk screen and Letterpress. Here’s a shot of my stone drying after the first etch.
Sorry I haven’t posted in a while I’ve been super busy and haven’t updated the site but I’ve got lots of new work to share so look forward to that. But for now here is a quick photoessay of what I’ve been doing the past few months. I did my first exchange portfolio for my intaglio class. I saw some awesome artwork in Houston (the image is a light installation James Turrell).I saw lots of bands and caught up with some good folks. That’s a picture of me with Hoden of Diaherria Planet. I was in a band called Mudras with my buddy Brandon. I got tattooed by Doc Coopr at Saint Tattoo in Knoxville who did an omage to Bosch for me. And most recently I made a book based on fleas(more pictures of that later).
I’m getting a lot more into this sacred geometry thing. It’s really beautiful. This Is a poster I made for 90.3 The Rock’s Exam Jam which helps to keep the station on the air. If you will be around Knoxville that weekend you should come.
I recently received a Faculty Award for my short BLOOM at the 2012 University of Tennessee Handheld Film Festival. Pretty nice to know that some of the UT art faculty enjoy my work.
Here is the video if you haven’t seen it already:
So I launched this Zine in early November called DIVE and it’s come a long way. It is a zine for artists by artists in hopes of showcasing the talent of artists of all mediums in the southeast. Feel free to take a look around the site and learn more.
